The Past Tales

By Dee Kay

There is some peace even in painful memories from the past,

There is solace in the aftermath.

The beauty of the face fades away with time,

Slowly but surely what goes down makes the climb.

The world around may dwell onto the insecurities,

A smile from her might bring back your purity.

How far this may go is a uncertain and unreliable,

But the purpose of moving forward looks viable.

Go ahead of time as your mind takes a leap of faith,

Let go of the past for the sorrow it may create.

There is beauty even in the mistakes that you make,

The conciliation is in the lessons that you take.

Far from the untold stories of the despair you felt,

Let’s create a masterpiece with the cards that have been dealt.

Don’t blame the universe or yourself in this case,

Everyone climbs up in their own pace.

You are who you are because of the experience you have,

Don’t let it spilt your soul in half.

Come join your dreams as they urge you to stand back up,

Help yourself to grow and develop.

This is not a rant but a mirror for your soul,

With a hope that one day you might just find a reason to be whole.

There is nothing in the past that you can change,
Visit it but don’t let yourself there to stay.
