I gawked at the children playing at the see-saw,
With such a look of euphoria, that I was in awe.
I miss those good old days,
When we had the choice to go so many ways.
Up and down the little ones go;
In a remarkable beat of euphoria or so,
One moment, one boy is up, the next, he falls down to the ground with a thud.
I recollected those pleasant memories, that I still consider to be very precious,
I discerned then and there with a shock,
That life is a ride with a knock;
Sometimes it takes you high,
And you feel on cloud nine just as you touch the sky,
But it soon drops you down,
With such torment that many of you frown,
We all fail to grasp, the memories from this fall;
Life gives a few seconds of joy;
Squandering them would be such a shame, boy!
I gawked at the children playing at the see-saw,
With such a look of euphoria that I was in awe,
I desire to be young once again;
From dotage, there is nothing but desolation to gain.
