My Broken Cathedral! by Roy

My Broken Cathedral!
by Roy

Judged was I always by everyone
Cowering I stay in corners of
my broken cathedral

Faithless I wandered around
Without any hope to come across
ever a voice so profound

Unaware I stood listening
while the proximity of the sound
slowly kept on decreasing

Conscious I became all of a sudden
the touch felt on the rugged skin
had the power to move even a mountain

Closer I stayed to the warmth
that caressed with a strange softness
the core of my heart

Selfish I became for the moment
reveling in the beauty around me and
ignoring the upcoming torrent

Apprehensive was I to lose her
when she would see the fragments of the soul
that lies in every way ruptured

Naked, still I became before her
Bare vulnerable feelings scattered
that I wished no more to blur

Then with a jiff, I drifted away
with the wind, before she could make me stay

into those corners of my broken cathedral
where dwells nothing but for a nostalgic lull…
