Near & Far (by Roy & Dee Kay)!!!

It has been a long while since I felt his presence near me…

It has been a long road since he walked beside me…

It has been a long lull since he wrapped his arms around me…

Penning down her thoughts, she continued to recall his face while looking towards the sky from her window, hoping to find his eyes looking back at her…

To the skies, I seek…Just a look at his face…

Shining with brilliance among the stars, he breaches the sheath of the darkness every night, reaching out to me,

Caressing my skin through the calmness of his light, he embraces himself around me, making his presence felt on me…

Filtering his soothing luminous through the windows, he comes to give me company, diminishing my loneliness…

Breathing through me as air does, he sings to me while my voice emerges calling out his name…

Drifting above me as clouds moves, he rises and falls with the beats of my heart, filling life in me…

Drizzling on me as rains showers, he cleanses me of my sadness, drenching me into his sea of love…

I feel him everywhere now when he isn’t with me anymore
I see him in everything now when his absence screams of his presence
Only if this silly heart could have seen what this mind could never…

the pen stopped scribbling…
the emotions ceased flowing…
only
the moments kept slipping…

It was not an easy task for her to pen down the feelings for him.
She had always kept a distance from him. The reason was unknown to her too.
Might be, it was the intense pull she felt when he was around and simultaneously endured the unbearable pain when he was not.
Maybe, she had caught a glimpse of his hidden ocean of affection and was intimidated by it.
Possibly, she had always known that no man can ever love her so much that the sole purpose of his existence would become to sustain a smile on her face…

So, she preferred tears over that smile…

Being realist was the enemy here but it kept her afloat in the sea of her expectations.

Whatever the reason was of her restraint, it had affected her heart the most.
Even though she thought she had a control over her emotions, she always knew deep down inside that the more she locked it within herself the greater would be the intensity of loneliness once he is lost from her…

“Why don’t you talk to me?” he always asked her whenever they met. It was not a question, for which he needed an answer. It was a question he asked in order to remind her that listening just to her voice had become a dream as well as a longing.

Sometimes silence is the best answer and for her, it was her only friend. She thought her silence would stop him from pushing his hopes up for her…would keep him afar…would make him realize that she is not the right girl for her. Nevertheless, the realist-self inside her failed to reckon that he was not an ordinary guy who would falter from his belief…a belief that sought her company only to pamper her with life for rest of the days left with him.

“No issue…it’s fine…” was his only reply after those innumerable rejections from her. Never did he force himself upon her…never did he demand her audience…never did he coerce her to love him back…He always smiled and took a step back to give her all the space she needed in order to keep her realistic-self alive.

Only did she know that the days were passing by and her trifling realist-self was keeping her away from the best days of her life and the last moments of his…

Whenever near, he would breathe life into her soul…whenever far, he would mold into her shadow. His pride was in knowing her and his secret was in loving her. Little she knew that though she kept him at bay, he had already infiltrated her heart with his life. She subconsciously was drifting towards him. She was unintentionally emulating his lifestyle. The less she talked to him the greater was the impression he made on her. It was indeed true that when the mind is busy keeping you aware of the reality, the heart silently fills you with your yearnings…She was falling for him without realizing that the fall would be so steep that there won’t be any come back ever.

Undeniably, TIME seems always so less no matter how much we get of it. We don’t conceive that each moment is a story within itself…and each moment passes away taking away the characters of its story with itself. He was also a character in the story held within few of her moments. He was just the only character that slipped away leaving an indelible memory in her life that even time could never erase…a soothing pain that she wanted to hold onto…a hovering life that she wanted to live on…

She put the pen down on the white piece of notepad, the page of which was soaked with her tears. She choked on her words as she read it again and again. She longed for him. Her realist-self had finally given in. But, it was too late…late to etch her name into the last few pages of his life. She walked towards the window filled with regret and remorse.

Silently, she stood near the window looking towards the sky, as usual, hoping to seek his face out of those far bluish skies…

and then out of the dark clouds, a star twinkled brighter than the others, flickering its radiance onto her face…

reminding her that…

HER NAME WAS ETCHED IN HIM BEYOND HIS EXISTENCE!
